INVOLVEMENT AND COMMITMENTS OF MINISTRY OF PRIMARY INDUSTRIES IN INTERNATIONAL CONVENTIONS/MEETINGS/FORA ON THE ENVIRONMENT AND SUSTAINABILITY

The Ministry of Primary Industries (MPI) and agencies under its purview have been committed to realising various environmental and sustainability initiatives/programmes such as climate change mitigation actions and biological diversity conservation to fulfil part of the country’s obligations under international conventions that have been ratified. The implementation of the initiatives/programs is also in line with MPI's commitment to develop the country's agricommodity industry sustainably and contribute to protection and conservation of the environment, natural resources and biological diversity. Among the international conventions are as follows:

  • United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)
